CONTEST CRITERIA:

The contest is limited to ALL POWELL COUNTY residents

Only one (1) submission per person is allowed
-
Submitted Flag designs must be accompanied by a 500-word maximum description of design
-
Submissions should follow the flag design guidelines below

All Contest Rules must be followed to be eligible for prize

HOW TO SUBMIT A DESIGN

Flag Contest Entry Forms may be picked up in person at Stanton City Hall during business hours or downloaded below.

The designs must be attached to the entry form at the time of submission

Entries are due by June 8, 2026 at 4:00 PM EST to the Stanton City Clerk

All flag designs must be submitted in physical form. Emailed/Electronic submissions are not accepted.

Late entries will not be accepted

Do not sign any artwork/design. Signed artwork/design will be disqualified

FIVE BASIC GUIDELINES/PRINCIPLES OF FLAG DESIGN
-
Keep it simple- the flag should be of simple design that is easily identifiable

Useful meaningful symbolism- The flag’s images, colors and patterns should relate to what it symbolizes

Use 2 or 3 basic colors- Limit the number of colors on the flag to three which contrast well and come from the standard color set

Lettering or seals- Avoid lettering or seals, with the exception of the approved phrase “City of Stanton”, which is optional
-
Be distinctive or be related- Avoid duplicating other flags, but use similarities to show connections
